May 20, 2013- With Victoria Day Weekend upon us, Dylan Evoy and the Evoy Racing team continued their 2013 season with the opening night events at Mohawk International Raceway where Evoy would return as reigning champion in the Sportsman division, taking the top honours in 2012 and 2011, setting a track record for wins in that division over those two seasons.  Evoy was also back at the Brockville Speedway on Saturday night for the first race in the Seaway Sportsman Series.

The Evoy team travelled to Mohawk Raceway on Friday night looking to return to their winning ways at a track they have dominated at over the past two seasons.  By luck of the draw coming through the pit gate, Dylan started his qualifying heat race from the outside of the front row.  He jumped to the early lead and never looked back, taking the preliminary heat win.  He started the 20 lap feature from inside row two in the third position and wasted no time at all getting to the front.  Once he got the lead, there was no looking back, and brought home the feature win.

On Saturday night at Brockville Speedway, Evoy was fast once again, and with the Seaway Series in town, time trials would determine starting positions.  Dylan finished his qualifier in third place, locking himself into the redraw for the feature.  By lap eight in the feature, Evoy had worked his way into the top five, and continued to move forward as the race progressed.  On lap 28, Evoy moved into second place, and did all he could to mount a challenge for the win, but would come up just a little bit short in his bid for a perfect weekend.

“The car worked great both nights”, says Evoy after the Brockville race.  “We had a strong car, but just didn’t quite have enough to get up there and grab the win.  We will keep working on it, and will be back next week looking to continue the strong start to our season”.

This coming weekend, Evoy will return to Mohawk International Raceway on Friday night, and will be back for round three at the Brockville Ontario Speedway on Saturday night, looking to get back to victory lane in front of the hometown crowd.

Evoy Racing would like to thank Ogilvie’s Auto & Fleet Service, Plooy’s Plumbing and Heating, 1000 Isands Rv Centre, Renovators Inc., Napa Auto Parts Universal Supply Group, Genesis Racing Shocks, Fireball Performance Automatics, MIE Autobody and Collision, Linde, Canadian Tire, Wurth and NGK Spark Plugs.  A special thanks also goes out to ‘Stick’ and ‘Big Block’ for their help and support.
