December 12, 2013 – After posting 31 feature wins over the previous two seasons, Dylan Evoy returned in 2013 looking to continue his impressive stats. He was the reigning Mohawk Raceway track champion, after capturing the crown in both 2011 and 2012, and was also the Mohawk Raceway Frenchie’s Series title. The team was confident when the season started in May, that they would once again battle for championships at both Mohawk and Brockville.
The team brought out a newer car for 2013, and while they were fast and competitive week in and week out, it just didn’t perform as well as their older chassis. The team opted to continue to work with that car, and attempted to improve each week. Evoy started the season at Can Am with a pair of top five finishes, including their first feature win before Mohawk and Brockville opened. The rest of the season, Evoy was strong, posting multiple top five finishes, and a few more wins, but the domination from the past couple seasons had dissipated…at least temporarily.
“We had a good season, but certainly not as good as we have had in the past”, says Evoy. “We brought out a newer car and it just didn’t perform as well as the other car did, and the competition level has also increased. We are working hard on our program for 2014 and we plan to come back strong when the season starts next Spring”.
When the season ended with the 1000 Islands RV DIRTcar Northeast Fall Nationals, Evoy had posted a total of seven feature wins. He finished the year second in points at Mohawk International Raceway and retained his Frenchie’s “Go Further” Sportsman series crown for the third consecutive season. He finished third in points at Brockville Speedway and fourth overall in the inaugural Ogilvie’s Auto Triple Crown Series.
