Stroud, ON (July 6, 2017)- Eric Yorke put together another solid performance at Sunset Speedway this past weekend, scoring a top-five finish in the feature.
The DY Racing driver started off the night well, placing second in his first heat, followed by a victory in the second qualifier.
Starting 18th for the 25-lap feature, he began to make his way to the front immediately, moving up to fifth by Lap 8. He then battled side-by-side with Daniel Montanari for fifth at Lap 9, dropping back to a position a couple laps later. He didn’t falter back far, though, as he’d get alongside Charlie Smith for fifth at Lap 12, though was unable to complete the pass as he fell back in line behind Smith.
He would then challenge Cameron McGlashan next for fifth with four laps to go, completing the pass with two laps to go, followed by a pass on Johnny Paradzinski on the last lap to cross the line in the fourth position.
With solid finishes each week, Yorke currently leads the series standings, 21 markers ahead of Charlie Smith. He is also third in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Division III Standings, only 10 points out of the lead.
Yorke and DY Racing are proud to be supported by Can-Alignment Motorsports, Solex Steel, Partimer Signs, Skytec Rentals, Budget Tire, Scentsy Consultant – Lisa DeLeeuw, and Cabral Racing Promotions.
