BRAMPTON, ON (March 11, 2015) –Just days ahead of the Motorama Custom Car and Motorsports Expo, the DSE Sportsman Racing Series has released what their Championship points fund will look like for the six classes crowning Points Champions during the 2015 season.
Over $17,000 in cash, prizes and certificates will be awarded to top points racers who follow the circuit, making the Series one of the more lucrative hampionship Drag Racing Tours in Canada.
Leading the way for 2015 will be Vinyl Window Designs Super Pro awarding $5125 in total cash/prizes to the top 10 racers, followed by Hill Racing/RPM Magazine Modified at $4875, Quick 16 presented by Low Down Hot Rods with a $4000 package for the Top 5 , and Super Bike/Sled with $1475 in total prizes, also awarded to the Top 5.
Corriveau Concrete Forming Supplies Jr Dragster Racers will be running for over $1,320 in Year End prizes and the entry level Street Eliminator category will feature a $550 year-end Awards Purse. As well, DSE Points members will also be eligible to win over $2,500 in additional prizes from programs such as the Abruzzi Transmission DSE All-Star Race, the NAPA Auto Parts of Brampton “Win the Day” Tool Box giveaway, and the ATI Racing Products “Champion of Champions” Torque Converter Prize Bonus.
“After such a long and cold winter we really wanted to get people excited about the up-coming race season, so we figured the best way to do it was get everyone thinking and talking about what they will be racing for this summer!” stated series director Andrew Stirk. He would add “We are still working on adding more prizes and sponsors, so it’s possible we could see the year end fund above $20,000 before the first event in June!”
Also utilizing the Motorama Custom Car and Motorsports Expo this weekend to unveil big news for the 2015 season will be Chuck and Sandra Beal debuting their new car for the upcoming season.
After spending several years racing a Harley-Davidson Destroyer, the Sandra Carter-Beal Race team will return to their door-car roots campaigning a 1963 Corvette built by S&W Race cars. The vette will be powered by a 700 cubic inch Chevy engine built by Mike Janis, with the horsepower being transferred to the wheels by a Joe’s Transmission prepared Powerglide. The team plans to chase the DSE Sportsman Series Quick 16 Championship as well as compete at numerous other Top Sportsman races as well select OSCA events.
Racers interested in joining the DSE Automotive Sportsman Racing Series will be able to sign up at the Motorama Car Show March 13-15 at the DSE Sportsman Series booth, or racers can download the Points form off the Sportsman series website and mail the form as well as payment to the Sportsman Series Head Office. About the DSE Automotive Sportsman Racing Series: The DSE Sportsman Racing series was created at the end of the 2011 racing season as a way to promote grassroots level sportsman drag racing in Southern Ontario.
