PETERBOROUGH, ON (July 9, 2022)-Across the board, the motorsports community loves a first-time main event winner.

Saturday, July 9 Dawson Drimmie earned his place in the history of the Trailers Plus Canadian Legend Car Series with his first career feature victory at Peterborough Speedway.

Coming from his fourth place starting spot at the drop of the green flag, Drimmie set his own pace in a march to the front and used the Legend Car Series’ ‘choose’ rule to his advantage on restarts to put his No. 66 machine in position for a run to the checkered flag. Even with a pair of former tour champions and the series’ only previous main event winner matching his lap times, Drimmie made the pass that sealed his trip to the winner’s circle with the 13 laps showing on the scoreboard.

Parker Traves, Adam Cuthbertson, Matt Haufe and Jordan Latimer rounded-out the top five. Paul Pierik, Chad Strawn, Steve Gareau, Caleb Drimmie, Glenn Morris, Zach Latimer, Sean Walker, Jeff McGibbon, Glenn Lloyd and Cameron Townson completed the Canadian Legend Car Series finishing order.

Chad Strawn, Adam Cuthbertson, Jordan Latimer and Parker Traves scored checkered flags in the night’s qualifying events.

Trailers Plus Canadian Legend Car Series Peterborough Speedway notes: Rookie runner Cameron Townson was involved in a qualifying event crash that sidelined his No. 24 ride for the balance of the event. The young driver was checked by track safety personnel and released…Parker Traves will be making a trek to North Carolina’s Charlotte Motor Speedway for Round 7 of the Cookout Summer Shootout
