@TNTSuperSeries • (January 31, 2016) Paul Young from Alden, New York earned his second Joe’s Transmission TNT Super Series Championship in 2015 with a dominating performance.
Winning his first TNTSS championship in 2009, Young is only the second driver to win multiple TNTSS titles. And he did it in style again in 2015, making his way to no less than four final round appearances.
Young started the season with a win at Lancaster in May. Then he gave up the points lead briefly but came back strong with a runner-up and a semi-final finish at Cayuga in June to put him back atop the leader board.
Another runner-up at Cayuga in late July and he was opening up the gap back to second place. Add to that a win at the Saturday night TNTSS bonus race during Empire’s Pro Am and his lead was never challenged after that.
“I would like to thank the entire Boniferro family, the whole TNT Super Series family, Ted Barnes and Jim Thomson,” said Young. “Also our sponsors Dale Cubic of CFM Carburetors, Al Linsey for all his help and Emerald Concrete.”
Young walked away with a cash and prize package worth over $4000 for his efforts. “There are so many supporters of this series. I can’t thank them enough for everything they do for sportsman drag racing!”
“I want to thank Jamie Stoneman and Chris VanBaalen for their help at the second race in Cayuga. We were struggling with a suspension issue and those guys helped us make the round call. Otherwise things may have turned out very different!”
