TORONTO, ON – Starting March 9th 2013, TVA Sports will be broadcasting the French language version of P1. This 30-minute lifestyle-reality television series about people that race cars is based on the drivers in the Canadian Touring Car Championship (CTCC) presented by Continental Tire.

Five English language episodes were already broadcast on Sportsnet One this past summer, now there will be five new episodes of P1. New drivers are featured in French in the same dynamic format as the original series.

Episode 1 – March 9 2013
This first episode will introduce Nick Wittmer (Honda Ste-Rose Racing). Nick is an experienced driver and posses an exceptional record. Already crowned CTCC Champion in 2010, Nick decided to compete in the No. 91 Honda Fit in the new B-Spec Class. With the support of his racing family, we will experience what it is like to be part of the Wittmer team at historic Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.

Episode 2 – March 16 2013
Our driver of interest will be the Montreal Businessman Etienne Borgeat (GT Racing). At the flat, fast and technical race track of Circuit ICAR in Mirabel, Étienne will have to face issues. His crew will also have to deal with the damage caused by spinning off the track.

Episode 3 – March 23 2013
Well know in Quebec for their participation in many Championships, Episode 3 of P1 will feature the racing brothers Mathieu and Remy Audette (Audette Racing). It’s on the track at the majestic Le Circuit in Mont-Tremblant that Mathieu will have a sole battle with Marc-Antoine Camirand for P1. Mathieu foresees only one possible outcome, he has to win!

Episode 4 – March 30 2013
Back to Canadian Tire Motorsport Park and overwhelmed by unrealistic misfortunes that don’t seem to go away, Jocelyn Fecteau and Luc Lesage (Media Racing Team) are now mastering the art of dealing with the unexpected. With his optimistic personality, Luc always looks on the bright side even after several engine failures this season.  This time, Luc puts aside his Scion to drive a BMW, hoping to get past the first lap.  The question is, will he?

Episode 5 – April 6 2013
To be a race car driver requires a lot of concentration, managing a team of six drivers needs patience but can also generate a lot of stress. Benjamin Distaulo (Lombardi Honda Racing) accomplishes both tasks with a natural passion… but not without difficulties. It is at the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières that Ben and his team will compete in two races where reality and fiction meet with the hope of getting on the podium.

CTCC would like to thank the presenting partners of P1 as this series would not have been possible without them: Continental Tire Canada, Dimension Doors and Lombardi Honda.

“CTCC drivers are some of the best in the world and it is their passion that pushes them to the top position, P1”, stated John Bondar, President of CTCC and Executive Producer of P1. “We didn’t know what would happen during a race weekend, nothing was staged. It brought us challenges but it also moved the reality factor up a notch. The competitors that have been featured were extremely generous and true to themselves. We are very proud of this television series and we hope the fans will love it too”, concludes Bondar.

ABOUT CTCC: The Canadian Touring Car Championship (CTCC) presented by Continental Tire is the only truly Canadian professional road racing series and it showcases race cars based on their original stock street version. The entry-level B-Spec Class introduces a sub-compact car category with a stock engine and strictly controlled modifications; the Touring Class features cars with minimal modifications, while Super Class machines have powerful and heavily modified engines and advanced aerodynamics. All three classes compete at the same time on the track and challenge for supremacy in their class.
