Shannonville (ON), June 3rd, 2021 – Following a recent provincial publication of the Three-Step Roadmap to Reopen, it is with great pleasure that today we release a revision of the 2021 Calendar. The Canadian Touring Car Championship presented by Pirelli (CTCC) is set to begin the new season at its home track Shannonville Motorsport Park on June 26-27, 2021.

It has been a long off season and, following a remarkably successful 2020 campaign, the CTCC presented by Pirelli will be back for its 15th season. Since starting in 2007, the CTCC has been Canada’s leading touring car championship and our announcements earlier this year are part of our enhanced platform to promote Canadian motorsport with a higher level of exposure and notoriety.

RACE Events’ General Manager Dominique Bondar commented: “This reopening allows us to finally plan for the future. Focussing on the success of the 2021 racing season, we are also looking ahead and planning for a 2022 return to normal. We look forward to engaging with our fans, something that has always been important for all CTCC competitors.”

The CTCC presented by Pirelli 2021 championship will be going back to a three-class structure with a TCR, GT4 and a GTSport representation. Both TCR and GT4 categories are specific to homologated models. Lists of eligible models are available on our website. Our GTSport category will showcase a variety of sports car with advanced suspension and aerodynamics.

With the season kicking off this June 26-27 at Shannonville Motorsport Park, our competitors will be able to give it all on the track with a three-weekend, six-round campaign. While this feels similar to last season, we are thrilled to complement this reduced calendar with one of the most outstanding events in Canada, the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières which should be presented on August 13-15. CTCC will once again be featured on Friday during the incomparable night race.

In accordance with the recent announcement made by the GP3R, we are delighted to hear the possibility of allowing fans in a limited capacity for this 51st edition. It has been a long time coming, and we are thrilled that this could be achievable.
