Stroud, ON (June 6, 2017)- Starting mid-pack for the feature, Cameron McGlashan immediately worked his way to the front to score a top-five finish on Saturday night at Sunset Speedway.
McGlashan started off the night in victory lane, winning both of his qualifying heats to enter the feature with momentum on his side.
Starting 12th for the 25-lap affair, he immediately worked his way to the front, taking Bob Phinnemore and Josh Bullen three-wide for fifth on Lap 3. He was able to get the spot, getting alongside Lisa DeLeeuw and passing her for fourth on Lap 5. He continued to move forward, passing Eric Rainey for third on Lap 6, before getting alongside Randi Seguin and passing her for second a lap later.
Once McGlashan got to second, the leader had already worked out a straightaway lead. He began to work at tracking her down until fellow championship contender Eric Yorke got alongside him for the second spot at Lap 10. The pair would battle side-by-side through the middle portion of the feature, with McGlashan losing out in the battle in the closing laps of the feature. As a result, he’d cross the finish line in the third spot.

With a top-10 in each of the four events so far, McGlashan currently sits second in points, just 15 markers behind Yorke for the lead. He will try to keep the momentum rolling this weekend in the fifth night of NASCAR Whelen All-American Series points competition on Saturday, June 10.
