STROUD, ON (September 27, 2017)- Despite starting mid-pack for the event, Cameron McGlashan drove his way to the front en route to a top-10 finish on Sunday at Sunset Speedway.
McGlashan was solid in the qualifying races on Saturday, placing sixth in both of his heats.
Starting mid-pack for the 35 lap feature, he began to work his way to the front, battling side-by-side with Brian Wilson for 16th at Lap 10. By the time the first caution flew at Lap 25, he was up to the 15th position.
From there, he continued to move forward, missing the wreck on the last lap, to cross the finish line in ninth.
For McGlashan, it completes a great season that saw him take home the 2017 Signs of Innovation Mini Stock Sunset Speedway Championship. The success for McGlashan has been tremendous over the past three years, as this marks his second title in three years after winning the NWAAS Mighty Mini Division title in 2015.
Additionally, he finished ninth in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series National standings. The NWAAS puts Sunset’s drivers up against competitors from 60 different tracks across North America, with each driver earning points based on their finishes at NASCAR-sanctioned tracks.
