@McGlashan83 • @Sunset_Speedway • #Velocity250 •(Stroud, ON (September 30, 2016)- After a solid first season in the Mini Stock division, Cameron McGlashan was hoping for a strong run in the Velocity 250. You could say mission accomplished as he wasn’t one of the 20 cars that didn’t qualify, and he completed all 35 laps.
He kicked off the weekend by finishing ninth in his first heat. The second heat didn’t go smoothly as he got tagged in the back end by a competitor, but he managed to keep it straight and going. He’d end up crossing the finish line in the sixth position.
As a result of his pair of finishes, he was forced to run the b-main in order to qualify. He was able to put in a solid performance, crossing the finish line in third to be one of the five to transfer.
Starting 22nd in the feature, McGlashan was set on gaining ground from the start. However, a pit stop under the first caution at Lap 15 resulted in McGlashan having to restart at the tail of the field. Restarting from the 21st position, he battled hard and attempted to make up ground, though fell a lap down by the time the second caution with five laps to go. Restarting from 23rd, he was unable to make up much ground in the final stages, resulting in a 23rd place finish.
