INNISFIL, Ontario (June 9, 2021)— After wrenching behind the scenes for many years, Calvin Ressor is ready to take control of the wheel of a racecar. The 2021 campaign will mark his rookie season at Sunset Speedway, with a full slate of Pure Stocks events planned.
“I’m excited that I now have my own car after many years of working on a certain Super Stock,” Ressor commented. “But along with the excitement also comes the stress and pressure of having my own car. Also, I’m sure as many others are, just excited to be able to have a race season this year.”
The decision to run Sunset Speedway was pretty simple, considering the years spent wrenching for Multi-time Super Stock Champion Frank Davey.
“I chose Sunset Speedway because I’ve been going there pretty much every Saturday since I can remember; the track has become a second home,” he commented. “The affordability of the class is what drawn me to it and the amount of cars that show up to compete
Even with being his first year behind the wheel, Ressor will have a lot of support from behind him, thanks to sponsorship from Barrie Nissan, OS Custom Exhaust & Performance, One Stop Muffler and Brake, Bullseye Axe Throwing, Barrie Fiberglass Pools and Spas, Barney’s Auto Electric, Auto Trim of Barrie, and Shepherds Docks.
The support will be beneficial, in helping him chase the goal of learning and getting faster with each event under his belt in 2021.
“My expectations for myself are to finish better then my last race and don’t get too down on myself when things don’t work out how I see them happening,” he added.
Ressor will get his first chance behind the wheel on June 19 at Sunset Speedway.
