April 30, 2014 (GRAND PRAIRIE, ALBERTA) – The 2014 racing season is now well underway for Benjamin and Alex Silliker and Team Silco.  They attened the Langley Quarter Midget Association (LQMA) opener on April 19th, and this past weekend they traveled to Yakima, Washington for the first race weekend in the Region 9 series.  It was a busy few days for Ben, Alex and the team.

At Langley, Alex Silliker got off to a strong start, starting from the back of the field and was challenging for the lead in his qualifying heat race before getting caught up in a bit of in incident and fell back.  He rallied late in the race to finish in third.  Ben continues to have great success, even after making the move to the Sr. divisions, taking home heat race victories in the Sr. Honda class, as well as the Light 160, and World Formula divisions.  Not long after the heat races had been completed, rain began to fall, and the remainder of the event was cancelled.

This past weekend, Team Silco traveled to Yakima, Washington for the first regional event of the season.  In Ben’s first ever Regional Sr. Honda event he led 30 of the 40 laps until the car started to get too tight towards the end of the race, and ended up with a second place finish.  In the Light 160 class, Ben ran very competitively against some of the best drivers in the division, and posted a sold 4th place finish.  In his debut in the Lt World Formula class, Ben started 9th and steadily moved forward, riding inside the top five until a late race spin resulted in a 9th place finish.  Alex Silliker also finished 8th in his event at Yakima.

The team will now head to California to set up shop and prepare for a busy racing schedule this summer.  They will race at Cycleland Speedway in California this coming weekend with the Black Dog Environmental QRC Karts and Micro Sprints before returning to Langley for the second Regional Race of the year.

Benjamin Silliker and the Team Silco Racing team would like to thank all of the marketing partners that have contributed to the success of the team.  These partners include Northstar Energy Services.  All Class Fabrication, Evolution Racing Products, Tan Man Welding, Platinum Grover, Black Dog Drilling & Environmental Services, Pipe & Piling Supplies Ltd., Precise Surveys, Vye Development Ltd., QRC Factory Karts and Locked N Loaded Graphics.
