BOWMANVILLE, ON- After a season largely spent working to understand his freshly built Port City by McHattie chassis, former Peterborough Speedway champion Bryan Sudsbury hopes that tonight’s ‘Toonie Night’ event will supply the backdrop to his long-awaited reintroduction as a contender in the speedway’s talent-laden Late Model division.
“We’ve battled tooth and nail with this car all season, but I still believe in the program that we have,” insists Sudsbury. “There’s a lot of potential here. We’re a few adjustments away from waking this thing up. And, when we do, look out”
Sudsbury finds himself on a Peterborough roster that includes a number of fellow track champions, in addition to grizzled veterans and rising stars.
“This division is fascinating because everything is always changing,” says ‘Party Time’. “This is as healthy as the Peterborough roster has been in a long time, and everyone out here is improving every Saturday. It’s constantly progressing, and it’s our job to keep up with it”
Sudsbury will enter this evening 4th in points, and hopes that a solid outing tonight will propel his No. 29 back to the podium.
“The points are tight enough that one big night can shake things up in a huge way,” offers the former champion. “We want to make a splash and, the way I see it, Saturday is the perfect opportunity to do that. There are three points nights left – it’s time to lay the cards down on the table”
“We’re not far from where we need to be. This program has all the pieces necessary to be something special. Saturday we’re going to give these guys everything that we have – and we’ll just need to hope that it’s enough.”
