MT BRYDGES, ON- 12-year old Legends rookie Jake Sheridan will look for the biggest win of his young career this evening, when he heads to Peterborough Speedway for the Ontario Legends Series-sanctioned ‘$1000-to-win’ event.
“This is one of the biggest races that we get to be a part of all year,” explains Sheridan. “Everyone wants to win this one, and there should be a lot of really good cars from all over Ontario. I can’t wait to see where we stack up with them”
The second-generation racer – son of former Delaware Speedway Late Model champion Ron Sheridan – has already tallied 3 feature wins at Grand Bend Speedway in his first full season of Legends competition.
The Mt. Brydges, ON driver earned a podium finish in his last appearance at Peterborough, and aims to improve on that for tonight’s race.
“We were fast the last time we were at Peterborough, so we’re hoping to build on that,” says the rising star. “It’s different than any other speedway I’ve been to – but I really enjoy it”
“We’re giving up a lot of experience to a lot of these teams that have been racing there for years, so hopefully we can make smart decisions and the right adjustments to put us in contention”
“It would mean everything to us to win at Peterborough,” continues Sheridan. “Obviously the $1000 would go a long way, but it would mean even more to be able to say we beat the level of competition that’s going to be there tonight.”
Details for tonight’s event can be found at www.PeterboroughSpeedway.com.
Jake Sheridan’s 2015 season is made possible thanks to the support of Belfor Restoration, Dale Wurfel Chrysler Dodge Jeep, Vibrent Farms, Pit Crew Challenge, Linde & Auto Trim Design.
