BOWMANVILLE, ON- Former Peterborough Speedway Late Model champion Bryan Sudsbury will enter July 11th’s ‘Toonie Night’ intent on securing his first win of the 2015 season.
‘Party Time’ has battled through a myriad of issues in the first half of the season, but remains confident that his fortune is ready to take a turn for the better.
“I want to win in this car so badly,” stresses Sudsbury. “It’s not enough to sit here and talk about how much talent there is in this division – because that’s the truth – I want to go out there and beat them”
“It seems like we’ve been working through a laundry list of problems from the moment we took the car out of the box on practice day,” continues the fan favourite. “You expect that with a new car, but that doesn’t make it any more enjoyable. I’m tired of chasing problems and I know that my guys are too. I want this week to be the turning point for us”
Sudsbury’s No. 29 is coming off of a runner-up performance in July 4th action at Peterborough, with chassis manufacturer Dan McHattie acting as a substitute.
“Dan had a really good run last Saturday, and it gave us a lot of hope for this car,” explains the Bowmanville, ON-based driver. “We’ve spent the last week in the shop, working to shore up a couple things that we didn’t like last Saturday”
The Great Canadian RV-backed driver credits his crew for staying with him through the team’s early-season frustrations, and vows to repay their hard work with a trip to victory lane.
“At this stage of the game, it’s just one foot in front of the other for us. We’re so close to having our program at the level we need it to be,” says Sudsbury. “I can’t thank Dan [McHattie] and the rest of the team enough for sticking with me. The last few weeks, I’m sure it’s seemed pretty tempting to quit – but they’ve stuck with me every step of the way”
“Hopefully I can bring them back a win tonight to say thank you.”
