June 15, 2013- After two consecutive weeks of questionable weather, Mother Nature finally treated race fans and drivers with a beautiful evening on Saturday night at Brockville Ontario Speedway.  A full program was in store, with the 358 Modifieds, Sportsman, Street Stocks and Rookie Sportsman as well as a special 25 lap Jiffy Muffler Rookie series race.

After winning on opening night, Brian “Slim” McDonald has battled some bad luck, and being at the wrong place at the wrong time.  His recent misfortunes earned him a front row starting spot in the 30 lap main event along side Luke Stewart.  McDonald jumped out to the lead early and checked out on the field, slowed only once by a lap 25 caution as Steve Bilow spun in turn four.  When the race resumed, McDonald continued to set the pace, and picked up his second win of the 2013 season ahead of Tim O’Brien, Luke Whitteker, Danny O’Brien and 358 Modified Rookie Ryan Arbuthnot.

The Sportsman division has been dominated by Shane Pecore early in 2013, with three feature wins out of four starts going into Saturday night’s program.  It was Doug O’Blenis and Dana Aikins leading the field to the green flag in their 25 lap main event.  O’Blenis had the advantage early, leading the way until lap 13 as Shane Pecore worked his way to the front after starting from the 15th position.  Pecore grabbed the lead and never looked back, rebounding from a nasty flip last weekend at Cornwall.  O’Blenis crossed the finish line in second place, followed by Kenny Polite, Jon Mills and Chris Herbison.

Derek Cryderman scored his first win of the season at Brockville in the Street Stock division while Yan Racine made a last lap, last corner pass on a slowing Corbin Miller to score his first ever BOS feature win in the 25 lap Jiffy Muffler Rookie Series main event.  Jamie Young also scored his first win in the Rookie Sportsman feature.

Join us this coming Saturday night, June 22nd as Coca Cola presents the first appearance of the season for the Go Nuclear! Late Model Series plus the Modifieds, Sportsman and Rookies as well as the Rookie Sportsman division.  Pit Gates open at 4pm, Grandstands open at 5pm and race time is 7pm.  With the World of Outlaw Late Models in the area, don’t be surprised to see a special guest or two behind the wheel of Crate Late Model on Saturday night at the BOS.

Modifieds: Brian McDonald, Tim O’Brien, Luke Whitteker, Danny O’Brien, Ryan Arbuthnot, Lee Gill, Kyle Dingwall, Pat O’Brien, Brian Rogers, Bobby Herrington, John Mulder, Jason Riddell, Joe Banks, Luke Stewart, Steve Bilow, Stephane Lafrance, Dave Austin, Andy Lloyd.  DNS:  Adam Moore
