@bos_speedway •(September 1, 2016)- Brockville, ON Even Threatening skies above did not detour the drivers at the Brockville Ontario Speedway Bullring this past Wednesday night. Points and track titles were on the line plus that ever important final feature win of the regular season for bragging rights.
In First Year Box Stock Bryson Winters has been on of the drivers to beat in the 2016 season. In 4 previous starts he’s finished no worse than 2nd all year. On this night he took the lead early and then held off a hard charge from Aiden Berry to collect his 4th straight win with Keegan Elliott crossing in 3rd.
The 2nd year division saw a dominant performance by Dylan Moore in the early going. Moore set a torrid pace and was not to be denied on this night as he scored his 3rd win of the year by a straight away at the checkered flag over Hunter Ford and last week’s winner Blake Smith.
Rookie 1 was set to go for their 15 lap feature as Landen Slinger led the way early on but was getting some pressure from 2 time feature winner Kalen Draper. Just past halfway Draper made the winning pass as he took over the lead and would not look back scoring his 3rd win of the season over Slinger and Brayden Comeau.
The Jr. Sportsman 2 class put on a fantastic show during their 15 lap event as Braxton D’Alessio was the race leader but Brennan Moore was right there to challenge. On the final lap D’Alessio made 1 mistake in turn 2 as Moore was able to get by. From there Brennan Moore would march on to his first win of the year I Jr. Sportsman 2. Braxton D’Alessio crossed in 2nd with 3 time winner Trent Wallace coming home in the 3rd spot.
In Jr. Restricted Braxton D’A;essio was once again in the middle of a fierce battle for the lead but this time Zack Renaud was right there with him to challenge. Just past halfway Renaud made his move taking over the lead and would run away to score his 7th win of 2016 with Tyler Morin and Xavier Perrin coming home 3rd at the checkers.
The Stock Light division saw a dominant performance by Dylan Crawford who took the lead from early pace setter Evan Reynolds. Without the aid of a yellow flag over the final laps Evan Reynolds and the rest of the field had no chance of catching Crawford who grabbed his first win of the year I only his 3rd start while Eric Castonguay finished up 3rd.
In Stock Heavy Randy Revelle was on a mission to try and score his 2nd win of the 2016 season but defending Stock Heavy champion Brian Clark was there to make it tough on him. After surviving several late cautions and a green-white-checkered finish, Randy Revelle would hold off Clark for his 2nd win of the season while former Street Stock driver Brett Horner would finish up 3rd.
In the much anticipated Ladies Race Joanna Smith would borrow Kyle Stewart’s number 61 machine and lead all 12 laps to score the popular win while Carrie Morre, who took over the controls of the Randy Revelle 17 to finish 2nd and Jenna Roth showed Ryan Roth how it was done as she crossed 3rd at the finish.
The Kart Track takes about a month off before the 4th annual Fall Karting Nationals take place on Sunday September 25th. We will see how the track regulars do against some possible invaders in the popular afternoon event. Don’t miss the action.
