With just a few more events left in the 2012 racing season, Jarrett Herbison is on the verge of capturing the Jr.
Sportsman 2 track championship at Brockville Speedway. He was looking forward to getting back in the Kart this past week, looking to continue his successful season. Herbison also planned to race at Can Am Motorsports Park on Friday night.
At Brockville, Herbison has had the kart to beat for most of the season, winning six of the first seven events of
the season. Lately though, Herbison has been running strong, but has had to settle with second and third place
finishes in his last three races at Brockville. Looking to start a new winning streak, Herbison charged through the field. He had a hard fought battle for second, and by the time he made the pass, the leader had pulled away. The
entire 15 lap race went caution free, and Jarrett ended with a second place finish.
“We could have used a caution there once we got to second place, but it didn’t happen”, explains Herbison. “We had a good night though, and still managed to get a good second place finish and extend our point lead, so it was a good night. I really want to thank everyone that helped us out tonight”.
This coming week, Herbison will be at Brockville Speedway on Wednesday night for sure, and is still unsure about going back to Can Am on Friday night.
