SAUBLE BEACH, ON- Former Sauble Speedway regular Brittney Gresel is set to return home, ready to represent Sunset Speedway in the opening round of the Sauble vs. Sunset ‘Home and Home Series’.
“I love racing at Sunset – but it’s always great to come home”, says Gresel.
“We have a tonne of laps around there, so there’s no reason to think we won’t be able to put this hotrod in the top-10 on July 12th”
Gresel has enjoyed a strong 2014 thus far, having worked her way to 9th in Sunset Speedway points through the first half of the season.
“We revamped our entire program at the beginning of the year, and so far it’s worked out great”, explained the second-generation competitor. “We’re at the point now where we can unload and compete for a top-10 finish every night. At this point, it’s all about fine-tuning and making small gains every time out”
For a driver that started her stock car career in a Mini Stock at Sauble, July 12th’s event will very much serve as a homecoming.
“Sauble will always be a second home to me. No matter where I’m racing fulltime. It’ll be awesome to come home and see some familiar faces”
“I’m confident we’ll have enough car to compete. [Crew Chief] Brandon Johnston and I have poured a tonne of work into our program since we were last at Sauble. It’s a big motor track. And our crate engine isn’t going to be out-powering anybody. So, we’ll have to make up in the corners what we give up on the straightaways. If we stay smooth, we should be alright”
