SAUBLE BEACH, ON- Sunset Speedway Late Model regular Brittney Gresel will return to her former home track for July 11th’s ‘Battle at the Beach’ invitational.
The event will pit Gresel and a host of other visitors against the very best that the Sauble Speedway headline division has to offer.
“It’s always exciting to come home. I know every groove and bump on that racetrack,” smiles Gresel. “No matter how far away we’re racing on a weekly basis – in a lot of ways, Sauble will always be home”
The event promises to draw a healthy crowd of both fans and drivers, with industry insiders from across the province flocking to ‘the Beach’ for the speedway’s first invitational of the season.
“There’s always such an awesome atmosphere at Sauble when they put together a big event,” opines ‘B Gres’. “I’m expecting a ton of cars – which will make Saturday even better. There’s no question that this is a race that all of the locals want to win”
Gresel will look to utilize the event as a way to generate some much needed momentum, after a first half of the season that fell victim to a host of mechanical and setup issues.
“I think any time you have a brand new racecar, you enter the season knowing you’re going to have ups and downs,” reasons the overtly positive veteran. “We’ve fought our car a little more than we would have liked to, but I think we’re in a good place right now”
“There are so many hours in this car – we’re ready to take this thing to the front. A podium finish here, in front of our friends and family, would mean the absolute world to us.”
