BRIGHTON, ON — Fans at Brighton Speedway were treated to a full racing card on Saturday night as 79 cars across five divisions battled to victory lane. The evening began with Dale Marois, Gord Fletcher, and Greg Anderson being inducted into the Brighton Speedway Wall of Fame.
Mowat Scores Back-to-Back Wins
Anthony Rinaldi and James Seymour led a field of 12 Late Models to the green in a 30-lap showdown. Seymour jumped into the lead early and appeared poised for his first career win, but Brandon Mowat had other ideas. Mowat powered past Seymour on Lap 9 and held on for his fourth win of the season. Charlie Sandercock grabbed second on the last lap, with Seymour third. Steve Baldwin and Kyle Sopaz rounded out the top-five.
Wadforth Wins Fifth of the Season
Mike Freeman and Dylan Boyle brought 14 Canadian Modifieds to green for 25 laps. Boyle led the opening circuits until Shawn Gregory took command on Lap 3. Gregory appeared untouchable until Ron Wadforth slipped past with five laps to go. After a late caution, Wadforth claimed his fifth win of the year, followed by Boyle, Doug O’Blenis, Leslie Mowat, and Caleb Severin.
Gregory Grabs Fourth Thunder Stock Victory
Dave Barrett and Doug Anderson led the 21-car Thunder Stock field to green in their 20-lap feature. Anderson and Justin Ramsay traded the lead before Brock Gregory and Tyler French powered into contention. Gregory surged ahead with seven laps remaining to secure his fourth win of the season. Anderson settled for second, French third, Carter Rhodes fourth, and Ramsay fifth.
Bailey Brings Home the Checkers
Travis McLean set the pace early in the 15-lap 4-Cylinder feature before Tommy Bailey made his move on Lap 11. Bailey held on through a late red flag and restart to claim the win. Tyson Gregory finished second, McLean third, Aidan Fletcher fourth, and Trevyn McCrillis fifth.
Cross Captures Second Stinger Win
Brian Cross moved past Billy O’Hara on Lap 2 of the 12-lap Stinger feature and never looked back. Cross earned his second win of the season, with Michael Storey second, Chris Lammle third, Ethan Lord fourth, and Ray Davies fifth.
