@BrightonSpdwy • Brighton Speedway’s 48th season resumes this Saturday as Dibbits Excavating and Hits 95.5 FM present the first of two fan appreciation nights this season. Four weekly divisions are in attendance for a full slate of racing. All fans are invited to meet their favourite drivers on the race track at intermission for autographs, photos, and treats.
Vanderlaan Building Products RUSH Pro Late Models: The RUSH Pro Late Models will compete in their first ever Hotch’s Auto Parts Triple Crown race. The three-race mini-series runs in three of Brighton’s weekly divisions, but is new to the Pro Late Models this season. The drivers will run an additional five laps for a total 35-lap main event.
Three different drivers have picked up wins so far this season. Kyle Sopaz got his first career win last Saturday ahead of opening night winner Corey Earl. Charlie Sandercock has two victories to his credit this season.
OilGARD Canadian Modifieds: The OilGARD Canadian Modifieds roar back in to action this week after an exciting main event last Saturday. Napanee’s Doug O’Blenis scored his first victory in the third event of the season. Andrew Hennessy and Curtis King are the other winners so far this year.
Brighton Automotive Pro Stocks: Another tight battle is on the card for the Brighton Automotive Pro Stocks. Defending champion Doug Anderson finally found his stride last week as he won his first race of the season. Anderson held off Justin Ramsay for the victory. Ramsay has claimed a pair of victories this season. Wade Purchase is the other winner so far in 2015.
Bill’s Johns Comp 4s: Shelby Mills snapped Tyler French’s three-race win streak last Saturday, but that meant the checkered flag stayed with the Dirt Fast Racing teammates. The rest of the field will be hungry to park in victory lane and knock both French and Mills down a peg. Austin Reid has come awfully close to doing just that, with three runner-up finishes thus far.
Tickets Please!: Adult admission for Dibbits Excavating and 95.5 Hits FM Fan Appreciation night is just $10. A Family Pass is just $25 and is valid for two adults and two children under the age of 16 and includes family-size popcorn.
Spectator gates will open at 5:30pm. Hot laps are scheduled for 6:00pm. The first green flag is at 7:00pm.
