(Halifax, NS – June 1 2019) – Dylan Blenkhorn (Truro, NS) picked up his first victory of the season at the Cummins 150 this evening. Blenkhorn had to hold off Jarrett Butcher (Porter’s Lake, NS) and Jonathan Hicken (Brudenell, PE) who crossed the line in a photo finish. Hicken had to settle for third with Butcher crossing the line just 0.003 seconds ahead, picking up his first career Series podium finish. Kent Vincent (Crapaud, PE) and Shawn Turple (Enfield, NS) rounded out the top five. The race was slowed by seven caution periods and took 70 minutes to complete.
Four Atlantic Tiltload heat races set the starting grid for the Cummins 150. Dylan Blenkhorn (Truro, NS), Shawn Turple (Enfield, NS), Craig Slaunwhite (Terence Bay, NS) and Lonnie Sommerville (Barnesville, NB) all picked up wins in the 10 lap heats.
Ryan Messer (Harvey, NB) picked up his first Exide Batteries Rookie of the Race Award with an eighth place finish. The Kenny U-Pull Hard Charger was awarded to Darren MacKinnon (Charlottetown, PE). Blenkhorn led the most laps, pacing the field for 143 circuits.
The Maritime League of Legends kicked-off their 2019 campaign prior to the Cummins 150. Braden Langille (Shubenacadie, NS) picked up the first victory of the season. Andrew Lively (Middle Sackville, NS) took second while Emily Meehan (Rawdon Gold Mines, NS) completed the podium.
The Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour heads to the high banks of Riverside International Speedway next Saturday, June 8th for the Ceilidh Honda Triple 50’s. Atlantic Tiltload heat races are scheduled for 6:00pm.
