Fraserville, Ont. September 22, 2013. Ron Beauchamp Jr. earned a satisfying T10 finish in the season finale of the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series season at Sunday’s Pinty’s 250 at Kawartha Speedway.
Beauchamp and his team came prepared with a vehicle setup that had been successful for them earlier in the year. The team made some changes in practice to the Mopar/Exide/Pennzoil Dodge, including softening the right rear spring. After the adjustments, the car ran better during qualifying and Beauchamp started the Pinty’s 250 in seventh place.
The #60 Dodge ran strong and consistently for much of the race, which Beauchamp credits to changes they made to the vehicle in practice.
“We had some long green flag runs and the car went way a bit on them, but overall I felt we were pretty good,” Beauchamp said after crossing the finish line.
The #60 eventually finished in ninth place.
“We had a very consistent day with a top ten result and a car with very few marks on it,” the driver of the #60 said later. “We had some tough luck and struggles to overcome but we also made some nice gains and have a much stronger team because of it.”
Ron Beauchamp Jr. closes out the season in ninth place in the overall standings, with 373 points.
