July 14, 2013- The weatherman was not kind to race fans again this weekend, pushing Saturday’s racing to Sunday afternoon. This not only is hard on race teams, but it eats into the time volunteers at the speedway had set aside to prepare the track for this week’s NASCAR Canadian Tire Series two day event.

The delay certainly didn’t affect the quality of the racing. Scott Barrand was clearly here to race as he took first in the PartSource Mini Stock Division heat race and his first feature checkered flag ever, in the PartSource Mini Stock Feature with the #1 Tailgatorz Sports Bar Saturn. Tristan Ransom claimed the win in the mini stock qualifier, taking the #13 Saskatoon Sports Bar Club BMW over the line first.

Tim Kammer had his #04 New Holland Monte Carlo firing on all the right cylinders as he took home checkered flags in the Midwest Combustion Sportsman heat race and Feature race. Alex Leschenko took the checkered in the qualifier, driving Bob Gibson’s #11 Grand Prix.

Blake Erb was the one to beat in the Saskatoon Earth Works Sask Legends Series, as his #21 Novakoski Quality Collision Ford coupe took heat and Feature wins. Kerry Neufeld was the winner in the qualifier with #2 Ford Coupe.

Jamie McClennon proved you don’t need a whole truck to be a contender in racing. He and Doug Fischer crashed mid-way through the first heat race, causing extensive damage to both trucks. Both hit the track in their next heat and Jamie drove his #33 Porky’s Silverado to a second place finish in the 100 lap feature.

The #27 of Prince Albert’s Scott Lucas was top dog, taking wins in Heat A and the Feature. Newcomer #13 Mike Czaga from Stony Plain was first in Heat B. Jamie McClennon did get a checkered in Heat C driving the beaten #33 Porky’s Silverado and Len Zimmer from Red Deer won Heat D in his #3 Silverado.
