May 27, 2013- With the 358 Modified and the Vintage Modified both in action on Saturday night, it was going to be a busy evening at Brockville Speedway for the Arbuthnot Racing team. Ryan was back looking to improve on his finishes from the previous two weeks, while Steve Arbuthnot had his Vintage Modified at the BOS for the first race in the Ford Dingwall Vintage Modified Series.
After a sixth place finish in his qualifying heat race, Arbuthnot made some changes to the car before returning to the track for the 30 lap feature. He started from the front row, and jumped out to the lead, and looked strong though the opening laps. Although he lost the lead at lap 14, Arbuthnot held off several challenges from a pair of former mufti-time Brockville Speedway champions. Ryan ended the race with a very impressive third place finish.
Steve Arbuthnot also had a great night at the BOS, finishing the first ever Ford Dingwall Vintage Modified event from the fourth position. The next Vintage race for Arbuthnot will take place on Wednesday night on the pavement at Capital City Speedway.
This coming weekend, Arbuthnot Racing will be back at Brockville Speedway on Saturday night with the first race in the Ogilvie’s Auto Triple Crown Series. On Sunday, they will once again try get the show in at Cornwall with the first of three 100 lap Canadian Nationals Series events.
