INNISFIL, Ontario (June 28, 2022)— Taking the lead on a mid-race restart, Andy Kamrath would score the victory in the OSCAAR Modifieds feature. It marks his sixth consecutive win in a row, dating back to September 2021.
Ryan Dick won the first JRS Auctions heat ahead of Jason Keen, A.J. Emms, Jake Watson, Herb Walters, TJ Edwards, Luke Gignac, Tyler Liscum, and Wally Wilson.
Andy Kamrath was victorious in the second qualifier in front of Dale Reinhart, Tommy Robb, Kelly Balson, Mike Hearty, Shawn Murray, Chris Milwain, and Paul Townsend.
TJ Edwards won the third heat ahead of Balson, Hearty, Gignac, Dick, Robb, Milwain, and Wilson.
A.J. Emms was victorious in the fourth qualifier in front of Kamrath, Watson, Walters, Keen, Reinhart, Murray, Townsend, and Liscum.
Come feature time, A.J. Emms started pole in front of Dale Reinhart, Jason Keen, Jake Watson, TJ Edwards, Andy Kamrath, Ryan Dick, Kelly Balson, Mike Hearty, Tommy Robb, Herb Walters, Luke Gignac, Shawn Murray, Chris Milwain, Tyler Liscum, and Wally Wilson.
A.J. Emms broke out to the early advantage ahead of Reinhart, Keen, Edwards, Kamrath, and Watson. Edwards would get alongside Keen for third on Lap 3, with Dick and Balson side-by-side for sixth. Edwards took the third spot on Lap 5, bringing Kamrath through with him, with Kamrath taking third from Edwards a lap later. Kamrath’s climb to the front continued as he would get by Reinhart for second on Lap 8, as Edwards ran fourth in front of Keen, Dick, and Balson.
With 11 laps on the boards, Emms continued to lead in front of Kamrath, Reinhart, Edwards, Keen, and Balson. Edwards would get alongside Reinhart for second on Lap 13, taking the spot a lap later. Behind them, Dick would get alongside Watson for seventh on Lap 19, with the caution flying a lap later after Gignac made significant contact with the turn two wall.
Emms got a good restart to get ahead of Kamrath and Edwards, but Kamrath came charging back and got alongside him a lap later. Kamrath would take over the top spot on Lap 24, with Emms second in front of Edwards, Reinhart, Keen, Balson, Dick, Watson, Hearty, Robb, Murray, and Milwain. Hearty made a late-race move, getting alongside and passing Watson for eighth on Lap 27.
Andy Kamrath led the rest of the way en route to scoring the victory in front of A.J. Edwards, TJ Edwards, Dale Reinhart, and Jason Keen. Notably, Shawn Murray made contact with the turn four wall on the last lap coming to the checkered flag.
The Queenston Chevrolet Buick GMC OSCAAR Modifieds presented by Just Foam It are back in action this coming weekend on Friday, July 1 and Saturday, July 2 at Delaware Speedway as part of OSCAAR Nationals weekend.
