@OSCAARRacing • (November 2, 2015)- After a rocky start to the season, Shawn Stanley finished the year off with six straight top-10 finishes en route to finishing eighth in the Midas of Orangeville OSCAAR Midget points standings.
Missing the first event of the 2015 season, Stanley would make his first start of 2015 at Peterborough Speedway with an 11th place finish.
The four weeks that followed would see Stanley have a pair of top-10 finishes, but also suffer a pair of finishes outside of the top-15. Stanley would go to Sunset Speedway at the beginning of June, finishing 18th in the 25-lap feature. He would then head to Full Throttle Motor Speedway, posting a strong seventh place finish, followed by eighth at Sunset in July. Completing the month of May with a trip to Peterborough Speedway would see the driver of the No. 75 Midget run into problems en route to finishing 20th.
Coming off the poor showing at Peterborough, it was obvious that Stanley wanted to turn his season around, and he would do just that. He would head to Sauble Speedway near the end of July, running up front all feature long en route to a third place finish.
Kicking off the month of August, Stanley kept the positive trend going with a ninth place finish at Peterborough Speedway. The positive momentum would then stay around for the rest of the month, with a finish of fifth at Grand Bend Speedway and a seventh at Flamboro Speedway.
He would then complete the season off with a sixth at Sunset Speedway in the Velocity 250.
Even though he was unable to hold the checkered flag, Stanley certainly had a season to be proud of with a pair of top-five finishes. Now heading into 2016, the goal will certainly to capture the white and black flag that everyone wants.
