26 August 2021 – Markham, ON: When the Sports Car Championship Canada (SCCC) rolls into Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP) on Labour Day weekend for Rounds 9 and 10 of its inaugural season, Multimatic Motorsports will double its entry to two Ford Mustang GT4s.
Continuing its undertaking to bring on young Canadian racing talent, Multimatic will run 2020 Canadian Touring Car Champion, Zachary Vanier, alongside team regular, Marco Signoretti. Zanier won five out of six races on his way to taking the 2020 title so he is an exciting prospect for the team.
“I am very grateful for the opportunity to compete in the Sports Car Championship Canada presented by Michelin in a Multimatic Mustang GT4,” said Vanier. “I am fully focused on working with the team and getting prepared for the race weekend. I want to thank Multimatic Motorsports, Technica Mining, FEL Automotive Learning & Promotion and Ridgehill Ford for making this happen”.
Marco Signoretti has won the first six SCCC races so far this season, and will challenge for Rounds 7 and 8 this coming weekend at ICAR Mirabel (28 – 29 August) before going to head-to-head with Vanier in Rounds 9 and 10 at CTMP (4-5 September).
“I’m excited for the next few rounds of SCCC,” said Signoretti. “Two weekends back-to-back is always fun and keeps you on your toes. ICAR is a new circuit for us so I’m looking forward to learning the track and working with the team to nail the setup. The following week we are at CTMP and I have been looking forward to this race all season. With spectators allowed, I hope Zachary and I can represent Multimatic and put on a show for them. I’ve known Zachary for many years through the karting ranks and he has proved his speed in multiple championships so I am really looking forward to this competition and it is great that we are both in Multimatic Ford Mustang GT4’s!”
“We’re really pleased that Zachary is joining us at CTMP and look forward to seeing what he can do in a Ford Mustang GT4,” said Sean Mason, Multimatic’s Motorsports Manager. “The development of future talent is important to us at Multimatic and we think that Zach is an exciting prospect.”
