CYPRESS, CALIFORNIA – Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp. announces the full-slick Toyo® Proxes® RS1™ is now available in the United States.  The Proxes RS1 is a full-slick competition tire that provides consistent performance throughout the life of the tire.

Already a winner in Europe and the Middle East, this racing tire is excellent in dry braking and capable of enduring closed course road racing, time attack, track days and high performance driving schools. It features an advanced casing for durability and stability at high speed, plus the steel wire reinforced sidewall provides responsive handling to maximize performance while minimizing lap times in dry weather conditions.

The Proxes RS1 is available to U.S. racers in four popular sizes: 245/640R18, 285/650R18, 285/680R18 and 335/710R18.  A comprehensive contingency program is also being offered in conjunction with NASA, the National Auto Sport Association.  There are 30 eligible race classes including Super Touring, Super Unlimited, Enduro, Time Trial and GTS.  Details of the Proxes RS1 contingency program are available at www.nasaproracing.com/contingency.

“Racing is an important part of the Toyo Tires DNA, which is why we are so excited to introduce the Proxes RS1,” said Marc Sanzenbacher, senior manager, Competition Performance Products Division, Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp.  “This is a direct result of requests and conversations with the racing community.  We heard their needs and we answered them by adding another winning tire to our line-up.”

The Proxes RS1 has proven itself in 24-hour races such as Nürburgring, Spa and Dubai, and undergone extensive testing in the U.S.  It is considered both consistent and fast, two attributes sought after by serious road racers.  The introduction of the Proxes RS1 bolsters Toyo Tires’ offerings for road racing enthusiasts which includes the Proxes® R888™ and Proxes® RA1™.   See a complete list of competition products and sizes at www.toyotires.com.
