St. Eustache, Que. July 27, 2013. After a rocky first half of the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series season, Jason White finally took home a well-deserved top five finish at Autodrome St. Eustache.
Jason White’s #21 Bowers & Wilkins Dodge felt good during practice, only requiring some fine-tuning before qualifying. Despite the solid practice, White registered a 16th place qualifying time. He shook off the less-than-desirable qualifying in anticipation of the National 250.
The Dodge ran well in the early going, and the team made a strategy call to stay out at the first caution.
“We opted out of re-fueling in the first caution, and that gave us the track position. It really worked out for us,” White said after.
On the next caution period, #21 made scheduled stops including fuel and tires.
“The car felt fantastic,” White said.
The Sun Peaks driver utilized the great feel of the car from behind the wheel and continued to collect spots as the race progressed.
Jason White crossed the finish place in fifth place, his first time cracking the top 10 in the 2013 season.
“This is such a great finish for the team that’s worked so hard,” White said. “It gives me a boost in confidence and the ability to put the season’s tough luck behind us. I can’t thank everybody at DJK racing enough for sticking with us and giving us a great car every week.”
White and his team hope to carry this race’s momentum into the next contest on August 11 at Circuit de Trois-Rivieres.
