FLAMBORO, ON- Former Can-Am Midget champion Daniel Bois returned to fulltime competition with an 8th place finish in Round 1 of competition at Flamboro Speedway on May 10th.
“This car was fantastic tonight!”, exclaimed Bois in post-race debriefing. “We were incredibly fast – but so was the rest of the top-12. This is going to be a very, very deep roster this season”
The DB Autosport team toyed with a number of setup combinations throughout the day, working diligently to find the right combination for Flamboro’s challenging confines.
“Flamboro’s one of the more difficult tracks we visit all season”, explained Bois. “Alot of the success you experience at Flamboro is courtesy of the work you do in the pits”
“We weren’t great all afternoon”, continued Bois. “I wasn’t entirely comfortable in our heat race, but we took a big swing at the car prior to the feature and were able to hit on something”
For much of the event, Bois found himself racing amongst the hotly contested top-10, searching for valuable real estate to make a move.
“We didn’t have much room to work with”, offered Bois. “The entirety of the top-10 were running incredibly close lap times. I think it speaks volumes about the parity in this club. I don’t think there’s any doubt that we had a potential top-3 car tonight, but we just couldn’t find the track space to make a move, and didn’t see any point in pressing the issue and risk tearing up our car the first night out”
Daniel will return to action alongside the rest of the Lucas Oil TQ Can-Am Midget roster on May 18th at Sunset Speedway.
Daniel Bois’ 2014 program is supported by London Recreational, ProWraps, Bennett GM, Castrol Edge, Thermal Technology, MBRP, Auto Glym and Project Track Champion.
