May 21, 2013- Due to time constraints the May 14 report is late arriving, so with this week’s racing action looming, this report will be Short and Sweet.

Rayse Meyers of Courtland looks as if he may be the one to beat this year in Beginners but rookie Logan Lapierre-Cassie from Brantford found some speed and finished a strong second overall. Paige Smith made the top three as well.

In the Juniors, Colby Bennett from Pt Dover finished tops for the night followed closely by Jacob and Nick Sheridan both of Mt Brydges. This group is very entertaining to watch and each race goes right to the wire with everyone staying on the lead lap.

Familiar to winning, Bea Courtnage grabbed first overall this week but Rookie Eric McGlone found himself in second showing he is willing to make his presence known. Kate Courtnage rounded out the top three after a hard hit into the wall took her out early in the 1st main. This week we should see Oscar McCormack and Johnny Miller back out making the field a bit deeper and gives us 11 in the final main with the trio of Juniors that stay on to mix it up with the Seniors at nights end.

This week Cody Coburn showed up to race and despite qualifying 3rd, winning both the sprint and the main was enough to put him solidly in first place for the night. I have not looked at the season standings yet but the Experts are shaping up to be a great horse race right down to the end.
