(10 September 2019) – Brackley, UK- The last time Scott Maxwell (CAN) and Seb Priaulx (GB) competed in a British GT event at Donington Park they won the race. To stand a chance of claiming the GT4 title this weekend, they need to win again and hope that the #97 Aston Martin finishes behind second place.

The duo that competes in the #15 Multimatic Ford Mustang GT4 in the British GT Championship finished the last race at Brands Hatch riding high in the championship lead but a post-race penalty pushed them down to third in the GT4 standings. With just one race remaining, the stakes are going to be extremely high at Donington Park.

“I’ve really enjoyed racing in British GT this year,” said Maxwell. “When we won at Oulton Park we knew that we could be in with the chance to fight for the championship and now, here were are, five months later, fighting! The penalty after Brands Hatch was a real kick in the teeth but we’ve moved on and we’re ready for the big push this weekend.”

The Multimatic Mustangs have made a strong debut in the 2019 British GT Championship, taking two wins whilst rolling with the ebb and flow of success penalties and balance of performance adjustments. The Maxwell/Priaulx pairing has been the constant throughout the season but the #19 Mustang has had many different line-ups, including Sir Chris Hoy, Andy Priaulx, Harrison Newey and Billy Johnson. At Donington, a brand new duo will make their British GT debut as Marco Signoretti and Ashley Davies take the wheel of the #19 Mustang.

Larry Holt, Multimatic chief technical officer said: “This is a great series, hugely competitive, awesome cars, world class drivers, iconic tracks and challenging race formats, and we have thoroughly enjoyed the season debuting the Mustang GT4 in the championship. It has been encouraging to run at or near the front all season with the #15 and really satisfying to put so many great characters and racers through the #19, including this weekend where we are debuting two extremely talented rookies representing the best that Canada and Wales can offer. The Brands penalty has made everything far more difficult heading to Donington but nothing is impossible in Multimatic world so I am tenaciously optimistic. It would be great to win the 300th British GT race.”

The two-hour British GT race gets underway at Donington Park this Sunday at 13:15 BST. All of the action is available on the livestream at www.britishgt.com or via the British GT Facebook page.
