@sswracing •Halifax, NS. September 8, 2016) Just two races remain on the CARSTAR Weekly Racing Series 2016 season. Championship points will be top of mind for all competitors on Strictly Hydraulics night this Friday. Five divisions will be featured including; Toursec Thunder & Lightning, Hydraulics Plus Bandoleros, Affordable Fuels Sportsman and the Strictly Hydraulics Legends. Admission is just $14.00 for Adults; Youth (8-15) are $4.00 and children 7 and under are free! Tickets are available at the gate on race day (cash only). Grandstand gates open at 5:00 PM with racing at 7:00 PM.

In the spotlight Friday night is the Strictly Hydraulics Legends division. A staple on the CARSTAR Weekly Racing Series for over a decade, the division has served as home to many racing veterans and a stop on the way up the ranks for the region’s up and coming talent.

Jarrett Butcher (Porter’s Lake) holds a comfortable point lead over last week’s winner and reigning Canadian Masters champion Paul Goulden (Shelburne). Butcher is on the hunt for his second straight Strictly Hydraulics Legends title. Four-time 2016 feature winner in the class Cory Hall (Jolicure, NB) has slipped to third in the standings ahead of the Meehan siblings Adam and Emily Meehan of Rawdon Gold Mines. Emily Meehan, who is attending University, will have Cole Butcher driving her #75 car on Friday.

The Tim Hortons at the Airport Rookie of the Year chase has seen four freshmen take to the track in 2016 with Craig MacDonald (Waverley) leading Dylan Sutherland (Beaver Bank), Wayne Nichols (Middle Sackville) and Shane Lively (Upper Sackville) after 10 races.

With the Coors Light Truck division off on Friday night, third place point driver Megan Parrott (Beaver Bank) will join track announcer Tim Terry in the announcer’s booth to call the racing action on Strictly Hydraulics Night.

Friday’s nights festivities are being presented by Strictly Hydraulics. Strictly Hydraulics is a full service hydraulic center, with a 24 hour on call service. They have the largest selection of hose and fittings, both metric and imperial, in Atlantic Canada. Their Aeroquip Express Center can turn your walk-in hose, tube or fitting problem into a solution while you wait. Strictly Hydraulics’ engineer and technicians are able to deal with any hydraulic system and have it operating properly and efficiently in a short timeframe. Strictly Hydraulics is the longtime title sponsor of the Legend division at Scotia Speedworld.
