Delaware Speedway/ May 17, 2013: 9-time Delaware Speedway Modified champion Jamie Cox collected his first career Late Model victory in Delaware’s 2013 season opener on Friday night. ‘The Flamethrower’, of Dorchester, ON held off former Lucas Oil Sportsman Cup champion Jay Doerr and fellow Modified graduate Shawn Thompson through the final laps for the victory.
Second-generation star Matt Roblee turned in a commanding performance in the Delaware Super Stock division, kick-starting his title bid with a victory over defending track champion Jeff Showler and Kenny McNichol Jr.
Defending Truck division champion Gary Adriansen returned to victory lane in the season opener for the entry-level division, sophomore Trevor Collver and Piet Blaauboer rounded out the top-3.
Barrie Speedway/ May 18, 2013: Gord ‘The Smoke’ Shepherd continued his winning ways at Barrie Speedway, completing his third victory of the 2013 season on Saturday night. The 2009 Limited Late Model champion has now made 6 starts this season, with no finish coming outside of the top-2.
On the other end of Barrie’s twin-Ltd. Late Model features, sophomore Shawn Murray claimed his first 30-lap triumph of the season. The Alliston, ON driver is coming off of a 2012 season that saw him win a head-turning 4 features in his rookie effort, propelling him to the 2012 Rookie of the Year title.
In Thunder Car action, Darryl St. Onge held off sophomore Travis Hallyburton and former champion Dave Doucette for his 2nd win in 3 starts.
Mike Gettliffe would claim the evening’s Pure Stock feature.
Canadian Tire Motorsports Park/ May 18, 2013: Three-time CTMP Limited Late Model champion Mark Gordon held off defending titlist Kyle Donaldson in the first event of the 2013 season. ‘Flash’ has confirmed that he will race for the 2013 championship, and will enter Week 2 with the points lead on the strength of his opening night victory.
Second-generation star Ken Donaldson Jr. turned in a commanding victory in Thunder Car competition, with ‘The Alderville Ice Man’ Howie Crowe and CTMP veteran Bob Kish completing the top-3.
Darren Kearnan would take top honours in the night’s Open Wheel Modified event, while defending Pure Stock champion Willy Howells would start off his title-defense with an opening night feature win.
Flamboro Speedway/ May 18, 2013: Defending Late Model champion Jason Shaw hit victory lane for the first time in 2013.
Kevin Gallant would claim the Thunder Car victory, with Mike Holmes taking Mini Stock honours, John Verney winning the Pro-4 Modified feature and Pete Becker taking home the Pure Stock win.
Peterborough Speedway/ May 18, 2013: Former Autumn Colours Classic champion ‘Handsome’ Chris Mitchell won the first Limited Late Model event of the 2013 season at Peterborough Speedway on Saturday. The Omemee, ON veteran had announced earlier in the week that he would compete fulltime at Peterborough this season, with hopes of securing his first career championship. Mitchell would lead former Kawartha regular Craig Graham and Mini Stock graduate Jack Horner across the stripe.
Former NASCAR Canadian Tire Series competitor Bryan Cathcart would win the evening’s Thunder Car event, with Farm Bro Racing driver Ryan Oosterholt capturing the Mini Stock feature, James Townsend the Four Fun and Bill O’Harra prevailing in the Renegade Trucks division.
Sauble Speedway/ May 18, 2013: Former Limited Late Model track champion Jason Parker kicked off the 2013 Sauble season in victory lane, holding off defending champion Scott McTeer and perennial contender Tom Gibbons for the honour.
2012 Autumn Colours Classic champion Smokin’ Joe Adams won the Thunder Car event, with Ken Grubb and Todd Davenport completing the top-3.
Visiting hot-shoe Billy Schwartzenburg would dominate the Mini Stock event, winning at his second track in as many weeks, after completing a similarly commanding performance at Sunset just 7 days earlier.
Third-generation driver Jake Zevenburgen would win his first career Super Stock feature in the opening race of the evening.
Sunset Speedway/ May 18, 2013: Third-generation driver Billy ‘Z3’ Zardo utilized a last lap ‘bump and run’ on 2012 Velocity 250 winner Mike Bentley for his first career Late Model victory on Saturday, Bentley would hang on for 2nd while defending champion Stompin’ Tom Walters would claim third.

Randy ‘The Rocket’ Rusnell would capture his 3rd straight Super Stock feature while Warren Paxton would head to victory lane in the Mini Stock division.
Ontario Legends Series/ May 18, 2013: The Ontario Legends Series invaded Peterborough Speedway to kick off their 2013 campaign. Karting graduate Nick Ledson picked up his first career Legends feature victory, followed across the stripe by tour standouts Adam and Wes Cuthbertson.
Lucas Oil Sportsman Cup/May 18, 2013: ‘Juicebox’ Jake Ott returned to his former hometrack of Varney Motor Speedway to open up the 2013 Lucas Oil Sportsman Cup tour. The Ott homecoming was successful, as the Ayr, ON driver survived a late-race restart to hold off former champion Shawn McGlynn and perennial contender Dan Prudhomme for his first career LOSC win.
Flamboro Speedway/ May 19, 2013: 2012 Thunder Car champion ‘Killer’ Kevin Albers picked up the win in Sunday’s invitational, fellow champion Billy Schwartzenburg took the honours in his return to the Mini Stock division, while Danny Schantz won in the Pure Stock class.
Sauble Speedway/ May 19, 2013: ‘The New Age Punisher’ Jason Parker completed his weekend sweep of the Sauble Limited Late Model division, backing up his Saturday triumph with another impressive feature victory on Sunday night.
Lucas Oil Canadian Vintage Modifieds/ May 19, 2013: The Vintage Mods returned to Flamboro Speedway on May 19th, with tour veteran Steve Lyons taking the feature victory, followed by Jason Keen and veteran Brian Atkinson.
Lucas Oil TQ Can-Am Midgets/ May 19, 2013: Fan favourite Corey Moesker returned to Sunset Speedway victory lane in Round 2 of the Lucas Oil TQ Can-Am Midgets season on Sunday. The former Mini Truck standout led 21-year old Mack Deman and TQ veteran David Balych to the line.

OSCAAR Modified Tour/ May 19, 2013: Defending tour champion Gary McLean started off the 2013 season in the same fashion as his 2012 campaign, dominating the season opener at Sunset Speedway. The longtime Modified dominator led cousin Brent McLean and sophomore Open-Wheel standout Matt Barton when the checkered flag flew.

OSCAAR Super Late Model Tour/ May 19, 2013: Third-generation standout Brandon Watson captured the 2nd annual Lucie Aylwin Memorial at Sunset Speedway in dominating fashion on Sunday evening. The Stayner, ON youngster captured top qualifier honours, before leading all 51 laps for his second Lucie Aylwin Memorial victory. 4-time tour champion Glenn Watson and Derrick Tiemersma joined Brandon on the podium,
