With the 47th annual edition of New Smyrna Speedway’s World Series rapidly approaching, Delaware Speedway regulars Marc and Jaxson Jacobs have announced their plans to compete in all 8 nights of competition in the Pro Late Model division.
Older brother Marc made his debut at New Smyrna in 2012, battling back from a practice day incident that ended with the 19-year old on his roof, to log a number of impressive finishes against some of the top Pro Late Model talent in North America. Fifteen year-old Jaxson will be making his first trip to the World Series as a competitor, fresh off of a rookie season that saw him compete as a fulltime member of the Delaware Speedway roster, while also making select appearances in the MRE Pro Series.
The team has sent along several photos of their race-ready rides, as they prepare to depart for the sunshine state in the coming days.
A bumper crop of Canadians are heading to The Sunshine State to race. Among those planning to compete are: DJ Kennington, Martin Roy, Kirk Hooker, Steve Laking, Martin Latulippe, Wayne Smith, Gary Passer, Denver Foran, Cole Powell, Marc Jacobs, Jaxon Jacobs, Noel Dowler and Josh Collins.
CHAD STRAWN: Former Kawartha Speedway Thunder Car regular Chad Strawn has announced his plans to field an Open Wheel Modified this season. The second-generation wheelman will run select weekly events at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park, while also campaigning part-time with the OSCAAR Modified Tour.
