2012 will once again see Walters return to Sunset Speedway for a fulltime campaign, where he will compete alongside defending track champion Kevin Cornelius, 7-time Sunset champion Chris Morrow, 2011 Oktoberfest champion Mike ‘Lights Out’ Bentley, up-and-comer ‘Hollywood’ Taylor Holdaway and a bevy of other drivers that make up what is widely considered to be Ontario’s most talent-laden weekly division. SHAWN MURRAY: Here’s a shot of 2012 Barrie Speedway Limited Late Model Rookie of the Year contender Shawn Murray’s Dodge (above). The 2011 Mini Stock track champion will move into the speedway’s headline division fulltime this season, racing out of Dwayne and Kyle Baker’s ‘Baker Performance Parts’ race team. Murray has already signed Lake Simcoe Heating & Air Conditioning & The Hitch House as marketing partners, although sponsorship opportunities are still available. The Hawkestone, ON driver will once again return to Barrie Speedway for a fulltime campaign, looking to follow up on his spectacular Autumn Colours Classic outing with his first career Thunder Car championship. ‘The Upgrade’ will enjoy support from Shelswell Racing, Abstract Salon, Ed Roach Painting, K2 Images, Shepherd Trucking, Oro Collision, BFI Canada and Ridge Road Racing Chassis and Setup.

TAYLOR HOLDAWAY: Sunset Speedway fan favorite ‘Hollywood’ Taylor Holdaway has announced he will compete in the speedway’s 4-race McColl Racing Enterprises Pro Series, beginning with the first round of competition, slated for Sunday May 27th. While geared towards Pro Late Models, the Mini-series has already attracted a number of Limited Late Model competitors, including Mike Bentley, 2010 Sauble Speedway champion Jason Parker and third-generation driver Billy Zardo.
Holdaway is also proud to announce the recent signing of Downing Roofing and Vortex Brake Pads, who will join ImageFactor.ca, Holdaway Automotive and Mister Transmission of Orillia to support Holdaway’s 2012 efforts.
