SASKATOON, SK (July 25, 2019)- Canada’s Best Racing Team (CBRT) with driver Anthony Simone arrived at Wyant Group Raceway to begin the western portion of the 2019 NASCAR Pinty’s Series schedule on Wednesday evening for twin 125-lap races. The #1 Silverline Tools Dodge team battled the elements and at times an ill handling racecar to put together a couple of hard fought finishes.

The schedule for the day was delayed and then compressed which didn’t help the #1 Silverline Tools team.

“We had a couple of issues that we had to address and with a reduced 30-minute practice schedule it was tough but everyone really pitched in “said CBRT General Manager Joey McColm.

Simone would qualify the #1 Silverline Tools Dodge seventh for race number one. Storm clouds loomed during the first of the two sprints and Simone dealt with handling issues in the car. Rain showers brought an early end to the first race and delayed the start of round two.

“Really great job by the whole team during the break between races” said McColm. “Once the rain stopped we made a few changes to the car and got fresh tires on it and you could see the difference right away” he added.

Simone began race two in 11thspot and began moving forward and it was easy to see the car was fast. Inside the top ten he continued to look for opportunities to gain positions. Regrettably just after passing a car and picking up one spot he had contact with that car and the two spun. From there it was a hustle to the end of the race for every position.

“A tough night that was a little frustrating for us” summed up McColm. “The day didn’t start as smoothly as we’d hoped and the shortened practice didn’t help. Anthony did a great job working as hard as he could but we didn’t quite get the results tonight. We’ll regroup over the next couple of days and be set for Saturday in Edmonton.

Of Note: Racing in a CBRT prepared car in Saskatoon driver Jason White reached a career milestone with his 100thcareer NASCAR Pinty’s Series start.

“Congratulations to Jason on this accomplishment. He’s been a really positive influence on the team and a pleasure to work with this season” said McColm.

The NASCAR Pinty’s Series now moves to Edmonton International Raceway for 300-laps of action Saturday July 27th.

All NASCAR Pinty’s Series races are streamed live on TSN.ca, the TSN App and at fanschoice.tv
