(July 15, 2017) TORONTO, ON – The Avion Motorsports team made a successful return to racing competition this weekend during round number five of the NASCAR Pinty’s Series at the Toronto Indy weekend with Trevor Seibert driving the #69 Lake Excavating/Avion Motorsports Chevrolet and Robin Buck at the wheel of the #43 Ontario Chrysler Dealers Dodge. While Buck’s day ended early due to mechanical issues Seibert turned plenty of heads with his 11th place result.
During the Friday practice and qualifying session both drivers did their best to work with the team to find a quick and comfortable set up on their respective cars. Both battled issues during the day with Seibert suffering a broken trailing arm. He would line up for the race on the outside of row nine while Buck was one row ahead of him.
The race strategy for both drivers is to not push to hard to early and make sure that there is something left in the car for the end of the race. Regrettably Buck would suffer mechanical problems during the race and be forced to retire early from the event.
Seibert maintained his steady pace in the #69 Lake Excavating/Avion Motorsports Chevrolet and worked his way forward as the 35 lap race moved along.
“I never worry about where Trevor qualifies,” said Avion General Manager Al Lebert. “He gets stronger as the race goes on”.
That would be the case on the streets in Toronto as the laps ticked down Seibert continued his forward progression and would take the checkered flag in 11th position.
“I wasn’t sure what to expect, it’s been a while since I raced here but I really like driving the track in Toronto. I’ve always felt comfortable here so I’m happy to gain a bunch of positions and have a positive day for the team” said Seibert.
The Avion Motorsports team will be back in action next at the NASCAR Pinty’s Series race September 3rd which is part of the NASCAR Truck Series weekend at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.
