NORTH MIAMI, FL- After months of preparations, multi-time Ltd. Late Model division feature winner Sean Grosman is set to make his OSCAAR Super Late Model Tour debut this weekend at Sunset Speedway’s inaugural ‘Spring Velocity’ weekend.
The two day event – scheduled for May 16th and 17th – will serve as the tour’s season opener and will return Grosman to his former weekly home track for what will be his first start behind the wheel of his newly acquired Finish Line Fabrication chassis.
“I’m not sure we could have scripted it any better,” smiled Grosman during a recent test session. “This tour and everything about it – from the competition,to the procedures and even to my own equipment – is brand new to me. Being able to have my first start at a speedway I’m comfortable at is a huge bonus for us”
Grosman will once again enlist the aid of Crew Chief Ryan Kimball and Car Chief Bill Craig for his 2015 endeavor. Longtime team member Jamie Sutton will return to the team at select events throughout the season when his schedule allows.
“None of this would be possible without my guys,” continued Grosman. “The amount of time they’ve put into this car is amazing. Considering the fact that they all have fulltime jobs and come out to help me when they have a spare moment means the world to me”
“Ryan [Kimball] has really taken this program by the reigns. He’s spent the entire winter pouring over setup notes and doing research – I’m excited to see just what he comes up with for qualifying on Saturday night”
When asked about the stiff competition amongst the OSCAAR ranks, Grosman explained that the elite-level roster is what drew him to the tour.
“As amazing as these cars are – the reason we’re running the tour this season is because of the level of competition. I truly feel as though these are the best racers in the province and I can’t wait to see where we match up against them”
“I’ve learned a lot competing at Sunset – but I’m excited about the challenge of racing against these guys at tracks across Ontario. We’re going to need to be on our A-Game all season long, and it all starts with a strong run this weekend.”
Sean Grosman’s 2015 OSCAAR Super Late Model Rookie of the Year effort will be supported by For Your Eyes Only of Toronto, The Landing Strip Gentleman’s Club, Flagship Properties, SL Promotions and Rylex Glass & Mirror.
