STROUD, ON (August 2, 2017)- Ryan Semple kept his momentum going on Saturday night at Sunset Speedway, posting a pair of top-10’s in the two features.
Following a rain shortened night in June, the track made the decision to run double features on Saturday to make-up the rained out event. Starting from the 17th position, Semple drove his way through the field throughout the event en route to posting a runner-up finish.
Shifting towards the current night of competition, he carried the momentum into the qualifying heats, finishing second in the first qualifier, followed by a victory in the second.
Starting deep in the field for the second feature, he began to make his way forward, till he was caught up in an incident with another car just off turn four, resulting in some front end damage. He was able to rebound back, though, crossing the finish line in seventh for a top-10 finish.
So far this season, Semple has been impressive on a weekly basis, with six top-five’s in 11 races this season. He will look to capture his first feature victory of the year on August 5.
