NORWOOD, ON- Following a near month-long layoff, Peterborough Speedway point leader Flyin’ Ryan Kimball is ready to return to action in the Ltd. Late Model division this Saturday, August 23rd.
The Norwood, ON product will enter the event at the top of the division, and hopes to tighten his grip on his already commanding point lead.
“I can’t wait to get back out there”, says Kimball, “we’ve had an awesome year. I can’t thank everyone that helped set this up enough. Our car’s been a rocket right from opening night”
Kimball’s numbers are nothing short of staggering – in 8 appearances at Peterborough this season, Kimball has finished off of the podium only once. With his record anchored by 3 victories and an additional 3 runner-up finishes.
“It really has been a dream season”, smiles Kimball. “This is the type of year that you work for. We’ve had seasons where we can’t seem to get out of our own way, so it’s definitely nice to have one where everything falls into place”
“None of this would be possible without my car owner Wally Janzen and my close friend Sean Grosman”, continues Flyin’ Ryan. “The car doesn’t even make it to the track without these two. I can’t thank them enough”
The former Thunder Car standout will enter August 23rd’s event with a 66-point lead over his closest pursuers, though Kimball notes that does nothing to dull his motivation.
“I’m not interested in going out there and playing it safe”, explains the veteran. “I race to win. Every time we back this car out of the trailer, that’s what we’re looking to do. There’s two races left in the regular season, and I’m going to do everything in my power to win both of them”
“We still have a few races to go after Peterborough’s season is over”, says Kimball. “So, we’re going to need as much momentum as we can get. Hopefully we’re not done winning yet”.
