STROUD, ON (May 9, 2018)- The hard work throughout the off-season paid off for KDR Motorsports as they were able to score a pair of top-six finishes on opening night at Sunset Speedway.
The first feature saw Ron Quesnelle post one of the top-five times in qualifying, setting himself up for the feature. He was then able to run up front throughout the 35-lap affair, ultimately crossing the finish line in sixth.
Starting 10th in the second feature, he began to make up ground right away, escaping the first two cautions without incident to run third by Lap 3. He would slip back to fourth over the next couple of laps, but managed to maintain the track position, battling with Rick Spencer-Walt for third on a restart with 24 laps to go. He would take the third position at Lap 15, running there through the middle portion of the feature, until he slipped back to fourth on a restart seven laps later.
Despite a couple cautions to close out the feature, Quesnelle was able to solidly keep the fourth position, holding off all challengers and making a pass on the final restart to finish third.
With a pair of solid performances to start off the campaign, the focus now shifts to the first 60-lap feature this weekend at Sunset Speedway on May 12.
The KDR Motorsports’ No. 57 Late Model is proud to have sponsorship from Triplecrete Limited, Hassell Automotive, Emco Waterworks, D&S Collision Centre, Forterra Pipe & Precast, and Fierce Wraps for the 2018 campaign.
