August 27, 2013. Campbellville, ON racer Robin Buck returns to action in the #66 Dodge this coming weekend for round number ten of Canada’s NASCAR championship, this weekend at CTMP. After scoring a top five result earlier this year at the same track during the season opening event Buck believes they will be even stronger this weekend.
Though they are only racing a partial schedule in the series this year, the team has been very busy preparing their race car for their return to action. “After the first race we went over the car and did the normal maintenance but also felt we needed to try some things to make us better,” explained Buck.
Recently the team was at CTMP for a day of on track testing to see firsthand how setup and other changes affected the car’s performance. “Normally we do a short test to make sure everything on the car is ready to go for a race weekend” said the driver. “For the first time we tested with a specific plan to try different handling set ups and parts on the car to improve our performance”.
At the completion of the test the team was very pleased with the results. “In the spring I think we had a really good car but if you want to challenge for the win you need to be great. We definitely learned some things that I believe will help us to be even better this weekend” said Buck.
Action starts for the #66 Dodge with NASCAR practice and qualifying on Saturday August 31st. The Clarington 200 race is Sunday September 1st with the green flag flying at 11AM Eastern. Fans will also be able to watch the race live on TSN2.
