STROUD, ON (August 9, 2017)- While hopes were high entering the weekend following a top-10 in his last start at Sunset Speedway, Robbie Sikes would not see the weekend go as he warranted in his pair of outings.
Beginning his weekend at Sunset Speedway on Saturday night, Sikes placed sixth and seventh in his pair of qualifying heats. Starting 14th for the 30-lap feature, he remained there, avoiding a pair of cars chaos among each other at Lap 11 to move up to the 12th position. From there, he battled hard throughout the rest of the event, crossing the finish line in the 12th position.
He would make the trip to Sauble Speedway on Sunday, showing speed through the heats. Starting deep in the field, he was looking to make up some ground in hopes of a strong finish, though contact in turn four with two other cars at the halfway mark resulted in heavy front end damage to his car, ending his feature early.
Despite a rough outing, the team will remain positve and continue working harder towards with a focus on building upon the six top-15 finishes they’ve scored to date.
