Stroud, ON (June 13, 2017)- Battling a loose car on Saturday night at Sunset Speedway, Robbie Sikes was able to avoid trouble for the entire 30-lap affair.
Sikes started off the night by posting an eighth and a ninth in his pair of qualifying heats.
Starting on pole for the feature, he’d battle side-by-side with Chris Allard for second in the early stages. However, with the back-end twitching in the corners, he’d begin to fall back through the field, eventually heading down pit road at Lap 19. Luck came his way though, as a caution flew a lap later for an incident in turn four, allowing him to stay on the lead lap. Restarting at the back, he was unable to make much progress en route to posting a 19th-place finish.
Following the night, the team spent time in the shop and believes they’ve found some things to help out the handling of the No. 37 Chevelle. The Hillbilly Deluxe Racing squad is set to put in some more time this week, in hopes of a solid finish this coming Saturday night on June 17 at Sunset Speedway.
The Hillbilly Deluxe Racing team is proud to be supported by Lloyds Haulage, Duivenvoorden Haulage, Nitro Industrial, Polished Automotive, ORV Auto, Southview Too, Kings Marine, Bromley Automotive, Jaded Motorsports, Ernie’s Performance, Walt Fab, and Serem Renovations this season.
