STROUD, ON (May 15, 2018)- After suffering disappointment last weekend at Sunset Speedway, Spencer-Walt Motorsports was able to bounce back with a solid top-10 performance on Saturday night.
With the Sunset Speedway Late Models running a 60-lap main event instead of twin 35-lap features, they’d run a single heat to help set the starting line-up. Spencer-Walt showed speed in his heat, scoring a runner-up finish.
Starting mid-pack for the feature, he would run 11th with 16 laps on the board. He would get alongside Jordan Latimer for 10th six laps later, taking the spot on Lap 24. From there, his progress was halted as he was unable to make up any other spots until a pair of the leaders spun with four laps later.
Restarting in the eighth position, he was able to make the pass on Jason Parker, scoring a seventh-place finish for his second top-10 of 2018.
The Spencer-Walt Motorsports team will now shift their focus to the APC Auto Parts United Late Models of Ontario Tour, which will run its season opening event as part of the Sunset Speedway’s Spring Velocity. The day, which promises to be jam-packed full of racing action, will kick off at 5pm.
Spencer-Walt Motorsports is proud to be supported by Gohydrovac.ca, Jim Wilson Chevrolet, Auto Trim Design, Byer’s Equipment Motorsports, Orser Technical Services, Heidi’s RV Superstore, GreenSteelRoof.ca, HOTC, Speedy Auto Glass Orillia, Frame Shop Huntsville, Speedy Auto Machine, Red Castle Performance, and EPIC Racewear.
