ST-EUSTACHE, QC (September 8, 2019)- Andrew Ranger and the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge team looked to collect another strong finish during round 11 of the 2019 NASCAR Pinty’s Series at the Autodrome St. Eustache in St. Eustache, Quebec this past weekend. Once again rain impacted the schedule forcing postponement of the race to Sunday afternoon. After starting ninth Ranger powered his way forward to a third-place finish.
During Saturday’s practice Ranger and the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge team worked to improve the performance of the car on the very bumpy track. They would post the ninth quickest time during practice. Rain showers then forced the cancellation of qualifying and pushed the 250-lap feature race to Sunday.
Knowing every point in the championship is important Ranger was on the move in the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge from the drop of the green flag on Sunday.
“Starting ninth is not ideal, but I was able to gain some positions” said Ranger after the race. It was only a handful of laps before Ranger was moving his way into the top-five.
The caution flag waved for the scheduled mid-race break for service and the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge team filled the car with fuel and installed four fresh tires to complete the race. When the race returned to green Ranger was again on the move.
As the laps wound down on what was the final race for the series at the Autodrome St. Eustache Ranger continued to push the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge toward the front and claim a third-place finish.
After a hard-fought race Ranger was pleased with the finish in the #27 Mopar Parts Dodge.
“Starting ninth we came home with a third-place finish. A good points day and the championship is very close. Now we’re going to head to New Hampshire where we have been fast and we’ll keep pushing to the end of the season” said Ranger.
With 11 of the 13 races on the 2019 schedule now complete, Andrew Ranger is second in the overall point standings, only two points behind the leader.
